Yoshio Yano, who worked in winemaking in other prefectures, relocated with his wife and children to Omachi City in 2014 and began grape cultivation at the foot of the Northern Alps. He established the winery in 2019, naming it after the French word for farm, "ferme," combined with a nod to the mountain foothills.
