Established in 2004 by four local fruit farmers on the cool southern foothills of Mt. Takasha at 400 meters elevation, Takayashiro Farm & Winery transformed from table grape expertise into premium winemaking. While the region is famous nationwide for Kyoho table grapes, the climate and terroir prove equally suited for wine grape cultivation. The estate cultivates diverse varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Kerner across three vineyard sites, with winemaking carefully tailored to each grape's characteristics. Founded by expert growers committed to quality over quantity, Takayashiro also produces cider, apple juice, and jams, integrating processing and sales to revitalize the local community while keeping pricing accessible to encourage local enjoyment.
