Kimura Vineyard represents over three decades of dedication to Pinot Noir cultivation in Hokkaido's premier wine region. While the formal winery operation began in 2017, the Kimura family's journey with viticulture started much earlier, establishing them as 'Japan's leading Pinot Noir grower.' Located in Yoichi's Nobori area, their vineyard has become legendary among Japanese wine enthusiasts for producing exceptional Pinot Noir grapes that have supplied multiple renowned wineries including Chitose Winery for over 30 years. The family's expertise in growing this notoriously difficult grape variety in Hokkaido's challenging climate has earned them recognition throughout Japan's wine industry. Their meticulous attention to vineyard management, combined with Yoichi's unique microclimate and soil conditions, produces grapes of exceptional quality that express the distinctive terroir of northern Japan. The transition to producing their own wines represents the culmination of decades of viticultural expertise, offering wine enthusiasts direct access to the source of some of Japan's finest Pinot Noir.
