Founded in 2019 by Shiojiri Kentomo, who transitioned from construction and food service to revitalize fallow farmland, Domaine Sourire embodies its French name meaning "smile" through joyful winemaking and culinary innovation. After establishing Shiojiri Farm and beginning grape cultivation in 2013, Kentomo created a unique destination combining wine production with an adjoining bakery specializing in rice flour bread made from local Koshihikari rice. The bakery's signature breads feature over 70% rice flour for exceptional soft, chewy texture, including wine bread incorporating the winery's own red wines, creating a complete farm-to-table experience.
